Some people just need some serious grunt in a server - grunt that a VPS simply cannot provide. At Labyrinth Data Services we noticed this, and so we put our thinking caps on. The extra-special ones with the red feathers. What we came up with was dedicated servers done properly, that no other dedicated server provider seems to do.

It's more than a regular server
While other providers might offer a wide selection of dedicated servers, at Labyrinth we offer just one. But Labyrinth! you ask. Just one dedicated server offering? The reason lies in the fact that this is the exact same model and configuration of server we use for our award-winning¹ VPS plans. This means that not only is your dedicated server more powerful than the vast majority of dedicated offerings, but if you happen to hit unexpected turbulence we can pop your drives out and into a spare server and get you up and running as quickly as possible.

Secure and Reliable
Our dedicated servers come with two enterprise-grade hard drives standard, configured in RAID-1 for stability (though you're quite free to change that). All our dedicated servers are also housed in a brand-spanking-new secure datacentre facility right here in Perth, Western Australia. This facility features redundant air conditioning, uninterruptible power supplies, generators, biometric authentication, 24-hour security patrols and killer bees². We also provide a 99.9% network-and-power SLA³ on all dedicated servers for your peace of mind, and if a part fails in your server we'll replace it free of charge!

Legendary support
All our dedicated servers come with a remote console and power control, accessible via a secure web interface. Of course, if you need assistance, help is just a phone call or email away. We give you contact details for the people actually administering the network supporting your dedicated server, so if there's a problem you're not wasting time turning-it-off-and-on-again.

You must select bandwidth quotas for your dedicated server. All dedicated server bandwidth is sold per megabit/second per month (see ⁴ for more information), with the option of additional WAIX-only⁵ traffic at a reduced price. All bandwidth includes an equal quantity of WAIX bandwidth at no extra cost (for example, purchasing 1 mbps of bandwidth will get you 1 mbps of non-WAIX bandwidth and 1 mbps of WAIX bandwidth).

1 mbps of contended bandwidth is approximately equal to 65GB of traffic a month, assuming typical network conditions on a contended connection.

³ Dedicated server uptime is measured at the end of each month. Should our uptime over this period fall below 99.9% as measured by us we will credit the equivilent dollar value for that month of service to your account. See our Terms of Service for details.

⁴ A note on dedicated server bandwidth pricing. We sell dedicated server bandwidth the same way we buy it - as a rate in megabits per second. By default, the bandwidth we sell to you is contended (at 20:1), which means that if you purchase 20 mbps of contended bandwidth with your server, you are guaranteed to get at least 1 mbps (1/20 * 20 mbps) at all times. You will however almost always get higher than this, as not everyone will be using their server's connection at the same time. If no other client is using their bandwidth, you will be able to achieve the full 20 mbps, while paying significantly less than if that bandwidth was reserved for you alone.

We also sell uncontended bandwidth for your dedicated server on request, at a rough cost of $200/mbps/month for non-WAIX and $40/mbps/month for WAIX. Uncontended bandwidth means that the bandwidth you purchase with your dedicated server is yours alone to use, but it will be more expensive as we must reserve that capacity on our network, and with our suppliers, just for you. ⁵ WAIX is the Western Australian Internet Exchange, and traffic between your dedicated server and networks peering on the WAIX is cheaper for us (and so we pass that on to you). If you purchase 1 mbps of bandwidth for us, you will also get 1 mbps of WAIX bandwidth (so you would have 2 mbps of total bandwidth). If your application requires additional WAIX throughput, for example if you're using our services for data backup and you're located on WAIX, you may also purchase additional WAIX-only bandwidth.
